Weeds Thrive Too

After a very rainy May here in Utah, my little garden is thriving and growing well.  I also have a weed patch in a neglected spot that is thriving and growing well.  Our minds are like the fertile earth, ready and willing to return an abundance of whatever we plant and cultivate there.  But be careful – weeds are default.  If you don’t intentionally plant productive and positive thoughts, you may soon find the place overgrown with weeds of negativity, fear, and doubt.

Every thought is a seed.  If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting golden delicious.

I was just thinking about a few clients who come in for periodic assistance with weeding their mental, emotional, or relational gardens. It can be a lot of work, but the results are extremely satisfying when they get more of what they really want out of life.

I like this, especially after I spent 5 hours weeding my yard yesterday and almost have it finished, just a few more hours.

I should take 5 hours for my mind as I’m guilty of letting some weeds go unattended there as well, that annual spring weed bloom. But this seems to be a major on-going issue for my 13 year old daughter. It seems the harder I try to get her to understand the power of positive we just go in reverse as she doesn’t feel she’s a smart as other kids, not a lucky, not as gifted, etc. Easy for me to see that those who are the apparent gifted/lucky ones only have a different frame of mind, but hard for my daughter to see that. Maybe her coach needs to rethink the game plan 😮

Dr.Paul, thanks for the great insight. It is so true. I have found that sometimes it can be difficult to stop the “weeds” from growing in your garden, and you never really know where you might find one. However, if you remove the “weed” as soon as you locate it, it will slow down or stop the spreading of more “weeds”.

    Again thanks for the insight.

    Stay excellent! ★
