Nobody Grows Old This Year

December 31, 2008

You are heading off into a new year this week.  You are on your way to something… for sure!  What you hit this next year depends a whole lot on where you are aiming.  Keep that vision alive and well of where you are heading.  The world and the media will attempt to discourage you, but you know these challenges are only there to test your determination and resolve.  Remember – nothing can be in your way unless you are already on your way!

Nobody grows old

By merely living a number of years.

People grow old by deserting their ideals.

Your are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt;

As young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear;

As young as your hope, as old as your despair.

How Do You Do

December 24, 2008

Season’s greetings from the home team!

My message this week is in the video – remember when people ask you what you do that it is more important how you do what you do.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Bring Light

December 17, 2008

A phrase often attributed to Adlai Stevenson goes something like this, “It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” I love to associate with those who bring more light to the world. With all of the darkness, doom, and gloom out there; we need lots of candle lighters. Today choose to compliment rather than criticize, choose the positive rather than the negative, choose gratitude rather than guilt, choose a smile over a scowl.

Just for fun, I wanted to give you all a heads-up to a fun thing that has become a Christmas tradition with my family. We saw a fantastic light display put on by a local family. The Holdmans really know how to bring light. Check them out at – make sure you watch the videos!

Make some light in the world today.

Practicing On Your Way

December 6, 2008

You have to practice every day how you want your life to be. You can practice being grumpy and negative, or happy and cheerful – it is your choice. You are going to get really good at one or the other, but not both. Pick one and practice it! Take one minute and fifteen seconds right now to enjoy my YouTube video about this topic, then forward this message to two friends.

Paradigm Prescription

December 4, 2008

Dr. Paul H. Jenkins is a clinical psychologist who makes house calls with companies like yours that are serious about prospering in the face of the economic “crisis” that faces our world.  Consider…

·         A company’s greatest asset is in the human life value of its people.

·         Economic success is achieved by the true production of value.

·         Companies with a culture of positivity prosper.

·         Teams who feel valued and appreciated are productive and loyal.

·         Success is determined first in the mind.

Many people have become fed up with the negative mindset that pervades the media and our culture.  Dr. Paul is committed to align with people who are ready to do something about it – and aggressively eradicate this “dis-ease”.

Here is the prescription!

Help Us Play

December 3, 2008

I was hanging some Christmas lights on Saturday when a friend came by and hopped out of his truck.  He hustled over to where I was standing on the ladder and rather urgently said, “Paul, we need your help – you and your boys – can you come help us?”  Well, I’m generally willing to drop whatever when someone needs some help, so I said, “Sure Markus, let me get the boys – what do you need?”  He responded that they were trying to play a game of flag football and only had six guys!  I got a chuckle out of this, then started thinking – if I am so willing to help somebody work, shouldn’t I also be willing to help somebody play?  Play is the work of children, some of the most important work in the world.

Take time to help somebody play today!
